Netball is a game of speed, agility, and precision so you’ll want netball dress that not only looks great but has been designed to perform.
When your netball dress performs well, so can you. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true. If you’ve ever ordered a cheap netball dress and lived to regret it, here are some tips to help you score top points next season.
1. Use breathable, high performance quality material
The first thing you’ll notice when you hold a Uniform Link netball dress is the quality of the material. You can feel the difference. A lot of people describe it as ‘weightier’ compared to its competitors, but still super soft and lightweight on the body.
Most of our netball dresses are made from 165gsm performance micromesh that’s cool and comfortable on the skin.
But you’d be crazy not to consider our 100% recyclable material. This fabric is a relative newcomer on the scene, but it’s been worn and loved by Aussie Olympians so we’re predicting it will become a bestseller with netball clubs, too!
Regardless of which fabric you ultimately choose though, every netball dress designed and made by Uniform Link is breathable for the ultimate comfort on court.
2. Go for durability and fade resistant colours
Fabric selection paired with sublimation printing (the production method we use to get your design on your netball uniforms) means that Uniform Link netball dresses are durable.
Our netball dresses usually last more than one season and they won’t fade.
Sure, this means we will sell fewer dresses because they’re not always the cheapest. But we’d much prefer you to get better bang for your buck when ordering your club uniforms. For some families, this means they won’t have to fork out for a new netball dress every season. We can hear parents cheering already!
3. Go for smart design features like rounded velcro edges
The little things matter when it comes to netball dresses. That’s why we pay attention to small things like the Velcro that netball bibs attached to.
The Velcro edges on our netball dresses are deliberately rounded to prevent any rubbing or discomfort during play. And back in 2002, our Managing Director, Ben Beard, was the first person in Australia to put multiple Velcro positions on a netball dress to accommodate different sized busts comfortably.
This means that your netty team can focus on the game without worrying about any wardrobe malfunctions or dresses deteriorating because of sharp Velcro edges wearing away the garment.
4. Add a touch of class with dimensional piping
Want to look and play like the pros?
Sublimation printing offers incredibly vibrant designs, but it’s hard to get any depth or texture on the garment because the design is ‘sublimated’ into the fibres of the dress.
So, to give your dress that winning edge, 3D piping down the edges of your netball dress side panels add the wow factor. It’s just another ‘little detail’ that make our netball dresses stand out from the competition.
