Method 1: Dyed and Embroidered
Dyed polos have been the go-to for many years and for good reason!

Method 2: Sublimated School Polo
A fully sublimated polo is a game-changer when it comes to creating custom school shirts. With unmatched flexibility, durability and design options, there’s virtually no downside.
Sublimation is the process of digitally printing and transferring a design onto fabric fibres using a print-dying process that bonds at a molecular level. It’s like magic!
The end result is a vivid and precise design that is part of the fabric itself. Plus, because the ink is infused within the fabric, it won’t fade or peel over time. So, your shirts will look just as fresh and vibrant as the day you got them, even after countless washes.

Although don’t write off fully sublimated as being cost prohibitive until you’ve spoken to the Uniform Link experts! Thanks to leaps and bounds in innovation, and the machinery we use in our factory, it’s more achievable than you might think.
Incorporating a sublimated side panel or trim on dyed shirts is a super effective way to create a unique, eye-catching shirt design. We’ve seen some amazing examples of sublimated panels with indigenous themes that are truly stunning.
So, which method should you choose?
Well, one of the big factors is quantity.
For smaller quantities, you may be surprised to learn that sublimation printing is recommended because it doesn’t unnecessarily use litres of costly dye.
For larger quantities, dyed and embroidered polos may be a good option, although keep in mind the potential for fading and shrinkage with traditional polycotton blends.
If you’re fabric focused, keep in mind that sublimation doesn’t affect how your fabric feels or wears. Sublimated synthetic polyester is a favourite for sportswear because of how soft and breathable it is even in sweltering conditions.
